Fitness Testing
Thursdays, 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm
myFitness now offers fitness testing on Thursdays. The test for April includes gait analysis.
A gait analysis is a comprehensive assessment of how a person walks or runs, focusing on the mechanics of movement throughout the entire body. It evaluates each phase of the gait cycle - from heel strike to toe-off - while observing key elements such as stride length, cadence, joint angles, foot placement, weight distribution, and overall posture.

Gait analysis is an essential tool for identifying underlying issues that may not be immediately obvious but can have a significant impact on how the body functions. It helps detect asymmetries, muscular imbalances, joint restrictions, or compensatory patterns that often contribute to pain, fatigue, or reduced performance. Whether you're an athlete aiming to boost efficiency and prevent injury, recovering from a lower-body injury, or someone experiencing discomfort during everyday activities, a gait analysis provides valuable insights into the root cause of your movement challenges.

The results of a gait analysis can guide personalized treatment plans that may include manual therapy, corrective exercises, footwear recommendations, or changes in movement habits. By improving how you move from the ground up, gait analysis not only supports injury prevention and recovery but also enhances overall mobility, stability, and quality of life.
